Side 1 of a Shaman’s mantle, Tlingit, made in Alaska, US c. 1800 CE. (L.2018.35.93) Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY.

The leather mantle hangs and looks like an upside down triangle with the tip cut off. On the mantle, two animal figures and a stylized human face are painted the Northwest formline style in black outline with red.
