Banksy, British Museum

Originally titled “Peckham Rock,” marker on found rock by Banksy. This object was surreptitiously installed in the British Museum’s Roman Britain gallery and went unnoticed for three days. Now under a new name “Wall Art” Banksy’s work is now in the museum’s special exhibition, “I Object.”

In a museum vitrine hangs a piece of concrete that is smooth on the surface and rough on the sides has marker drawings of a bison and a man with a spikes in his back pushing a super market cart. Beneath the piece of concrete is a museum label.
