CONGRATS to the Art Handlers and Facilities/Maintenance Workers at the Guggenheim Museum in New York! Yesterday, June 27th, they voted 57-20 to join Local 30 of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE).
Just to keep tally the following museums/cultural institutions have seen the establishment of unions in 2019: New Museum, Tenement Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Frye Museum, and now the Guggenheim.
Workers are speaking up and their insitutiitions can only ignore them for so long.
